Update: It is official, The Sims 4 Spa Day will get an update on Friday. There’s also a leak that shows nails will be part the so-called Sims 4 refresh.
The Sims 4 will celebrate seven years since it was first released this week. Despite a few bumps along the way, on 2 September 2021 the fourth edition of the popular simulation franchise will mark seven years since the base game was first released on PC.
Over the years, the game has had significant updates, but the base game itself was released lacking key features, which remain absent to this day.
While updates for The Sims 4 are usually released towards the end of the month, the milestone date might prompt a change to routine. Add the fact that the August 2021 Sims 4 contained just a single bug fix and there’s reason to believe that something might be afoot.
The Sims team have not announced or confirmed anything regarding a possible seven-year celebration, so take the speculation with a pinch of salt.
One thing we do know for sure is that there is a ?refresh? of an existing Game Pack currently in the works. Which pack that might be had not been confirmed at the time of writing, but theories range from Spa Day to Outdoor Retreat.
A possible theory is that burglars could finally make a comeback. The Sims Burglar aka Some Sneaky Sim, first arrived to torment players when the original game was released over two decades ago. That haunting Sims burglar music is something Sims 4 players have longed for and while the official word from The Sims team is that they are constantly thinking about burglars, they?re yet to be seen.
The recent addition of thieving foxes, added as part of the Cottage Living Expansion Pack, could pave the way for the return of a Sims burglar NPC, however.
