Update: The new expansion will release on 5 June. You can watch the official trailer for eco-living inspired expansion here and check out some of the interesting bits we’ve spotted official Eco Lifestyle trailer here.
Tuesday was quite a day in the Sims community.
First, a leak, which turned out to be fake, suggested the new Sims 4 expansion could be called Country Livin?. But within hours, EA themselves dropped a new teaser and then revealed the name of the next Sims expansion.
First, the teaser from The Sims linked to the YouTube channel where the trailer is set to be released on Wednesday at 15:00 GMT. Then, EA revealed – or should we say “leaked” – the name and the description of the new pack.
Sims 4: Eco Lifestyle description
The link has since been removed, but the description on the official EA site read:
Ready for your Sims to impact their world? Move into a community of fellow collaborative makers in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack!* Play to change and make a difference in the new world of Evergreen Harbor. Help your new neighbors decide on a Community Space Project, reduce your eco footprint, and watch your neighborhood transform. You?ll be surprised by what happens when your Sims start making the rules. [sic]
Later that day, EA’s Blake Jorgensen revealed at the financial quarter review the next expansion is set to be released in June 2020. In a statement, Jorgensen was quoted as saying:
We just had a very successful FIFA Ultimate Team birthday event; Apex Legends Season 5 is about to launch; and we expect the next Sims expansion and Command & Conquer Remastered to both launch in June as scheduled. Learnings from this period will forever change the way we work at EA.
It is still possible that the new pack could feature some of the “farming elements” – like livestock and different lot traits. But from the description, the pack has echoes of Sulani, the world that came with the Island Living expansion.
More details will be revealed on Wednesday.
