There are some amazing Sims 4 CC creators who fill in so many gaps in the game. One of our favourite Sims 4 CC creators is soloriya. Their page features a treasure trove of d?cor, including this amazing fish market.
But not everyone likes or wants to play with CC in The Sims 4. Luckily there is a way to create a fish market even if you do not use custom content.
You can do this with the Sims 4 base game without using mods or CC. The base game version of this fish market won?t be as well-stocked as the versions built with some of the Sims 4 expansion packs or game packs, but if you are just looking to set a scene for a story ? this will work perfectly well.
You will have to use debug object cheats for this build in the Sims 4 and you will have to be comfortable using the resize keys in the Sims 4 build mode and the precise placement keys (ALT and 9/0) in build mode. Make sure you have the bb.moveobjects cheat turned on, too.
Sims 4 market stall build tutorial
To get started, you will have to build the market stalls themselves. The easiest way to do this is by drawing a rectangle with the half-wall tool. You can play around with shaping the stall height and size to whatever works for you.
Don’t worry if your Sims 4 market stall is not perfect on the first try. You can always go back and change it.
Once you have built the base of the stall, paint to walls whatever colour you want it to be and add a wall trim.
Next, add some pillars at the edges where the canopy will sit. Once you have added the pillars, add the canopy. You can use the debug objects for this or just use a standard one.
Play around with size by using the resize Sims 4 objects build tools (the [ and ] brackets) and place it by holding down ALT and using the 9 or 0 keys to move it up and down.
It might be easier for you to build a wall between the beams and then placing the canopy. You can then click on the wall and use the “remove wall” build option and your canopy will stay in place.
Once you have set up the stalls in your Sims 4 fish market build, you need to set up a surface or surfaces where your fish will be on display. You can pretty much use any coffee table or end table here. If you prefer, you can also use the Immaculate Shelf, resize it and stack a couple next to each other.
Again, you can resize these to fit exactly and then hold the ALT key and use the 9 and 0 keys to make sure the placing is precise.
You can even use the wooden plank from debug mode to build up the shelving effect. This will take a bit of time and patience, but it can create quite a nice effect.
Once you have this set up, it is time to start decorating your lot and adding your fish to your Sims 4 market stall.
The Sims 4: Cats & Dogs expansion has some great objects in debug mode for general lot decor. You do not need this expansion to build a fish market without CC or mods in the Sims 4, though.
Once you are happy with the decor of your lot, it’s time to add the fish. This is the easiest part. To make the stacking of your Sims 4 market stall easier, we do recommend using the Invisible Slot Filler from Mod The Sims. We know, we know. We said no mods or CC.
This is not necessary, it will just make the process of placing fish a bit easier. To find the fish for your Sims 4 fish market, use the search bar and the text “fish”. Make sure you have both debug objects and show hidden objects turned on.
When you are adding the fish, play around with different sizes if you like. Depending on which option you have used for the base of your stall, placing the fish can take some time.
Objects will snap to the slots available and only once they are filled will you be able to use ALT to place them more precisely. This is why the Invisible Slot Filler can be useful.
If you do not want to use any mods or CC, that’s okay too. You can just go and delete the fish that are in the slots you don’t want them to be in once you have fished your Sims 4 fish market.
And that’s that. We have added our Sims 4 fish market to the gallery, you can download it over here or search for mspr1nt in game. Our version is not 100% base game, but it won’t be completely empty if you only have the base game.
