The Sims 4 will announce a ?summer line-up? (summer if you are in the Northern Hemisphere, of course) of upcoming add-on content on 17 May 2021, but whether this would equate to the roadmap players got in 2020 is not clear at this point.
On Friday, the details of an upcoming Sims 4 Kit: Courtyard Oasis, was leaked on the official Microsoft Store. The Kit description, screenshots and key features revealed that the new Sims 4 Kit will be released on 17 May 2021.
Following the leak, The Sims shared a tongue-in-cheek exchange with Xbox on Twitter, saying: Hey @Xbox, check ya’ texts.? We totally get it, we’re excited too! This summer is going to be ? & we can’t wait to share our summer line-up on May 17th.
Xbox responded by tweeting: “We’ll have to check our fountain, because it seems there’s a bit of a leak. But we’re so ready for Hot Sims Summer”.
The Sims previously said that there is no immediate intention to release a six-month road map like the one from 2020. And while it is not clear how much will be unveiled in the ?line-up?, it was recently announced that a new Kit (now known to be Courtyard Oasis) and a new Sims 4 Game Pack (still to be announced) is in the works.
Kits were only introduced to The Sims 4 in 2021 and is meant to serve as a way to help ease “content droughts” between the release dates of major DLC packs. This is the seventh year of existence for the fourth edition of the popular simulation franchise, but many players feel that some fundamental gameplay is still lacking.
Babies freed from their cribs, burglars, other much-loved NPCs and objects from the previous renditions of The Sims are amongst the most-requested features for Sims 4 players. Recently, a petition was started by players requesting a more inclusive approach towards gendered pronouns in The Sims 4.
