Sims 4 free update: Fire fighters, repo man, build mode changes
The Sims 4 team revealed lots of new information in the Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack live stream gameplay trailer on Thursday. We had our first look at the world map of Evergreen Harbor, which has 15 lots – two of which are apartment lots.
But there are also some big updates coming to the Sims base game in a pre-release patch. One of the features already confirmed for a base game patch is ladders. The gurus also confirmed that the bills and utility system will get an upgrade.
A new bills and utility system – and the repo man
A new option will appear when clicking on the mailbox. The system will be more comprehensive and when players click “Show Bills Information”, they will get a break down of all their bills an utilities.

Not only will your lot price affect how much you have to pay at the end of the week, but now, also how much you use objects that require water or power. How the lot price affects bills has been adjusted, meaning bills will be roughly the same when starting off in a new home. Players will ee a difference as household and lot sizes increase. Sims can also generate their own power and sell it back into the grid with the new Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle Expansion pack. Sim gurus also confirmed that the repo man will be making a comeback. They did not expand, though, only saying that stuff will be repo’d if bills aren’t paid.
During the live stream, Gurus were showing the objects in build-buy mode, some of which contained a ?Fire Resistance? level.
Categories for inventories

Sorting through inventories will become much easier with a new category drop down coming to The Sims 4 base game in an update.
Free placing of windows and doors
It’s not clear if this update will come for free to The Sims 4 base game, but it certainly will form part of new The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack. Players will finally be able to place windows and doors freely.

Sims 4 free update: Fire fighters
The gurus ended the stream with setting everything on fire, where the firefighter NPCs showed up. They did not confirm all the details, but it’s assumed that this will most likely come to the base game in a pre-release patch. Here is a screenshot from The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle live stream gameplay preview, which shows the fire fighters in action.
