The Sims 4 is set to announce another new expansion pack before 2020 is over and we have been digging through some old Sims 4 surveys to try and find some clues about what it might be.
We have already toyed with a few possible ideas. Firstly, there’s the idea that it could be a winter vacation theme thanks to some possible hints in both the Tiny Living Stuff Pack and the Nifty Knitting Stuff Pack.
We have also looked at the idea of it being a Crime and Justice (or Heroes and Villains Pack) or perhaps a Build Your Own Town Pack (seriously, those new debug building shells are just too weird).
But over the last little while, the Sim Gurus have been up to some strange behaviour over on Twitter. They have all been sharing a lot of stuff about cook-offs, cooking and food.
At first, we thought this might hint at the unnamed stuff pack that was recently leaked and considered whether it might tie in with a bed-and-breakfast or honeymoon kind of pack.
But the Sim Gurus have long since moved on for breakfast foods and are now in full-on cook-off mode.
One of the very early Sims 4 surveys included the possibility of a ?reality TV theme? expansion pack. The survey described it as follows:
?GET REAL: It’s time to become a reality star! Join the cast of Sliced n Diced to compete against other chefs. Finding Love to become the most desired bachelor/bachelorette or Runway Takeoff to become a fashion design star.?
Initially, while looking through some of the older surveys, this seemed like a bit of a footnote. We could not find all that much detail about the type of expansion it could become, so we never gave it a second thought.
However, as things have progressed, we have been forced to reconsider. The combination of The Sims 4 Spark?d (the game’s own reality TV show) as well as some romance-type hints and now the food hints, seem to suggest that it could be possible.
With the new patch adding the option to elope to destination worlds, chimes with the bachelor/bachelorette theme.
Randoms showing up and baking cakes
There has also been the odd occurrence recently of random Sims showing up at our Sim’s house and baking cakes. While that could just be a general weird day in The Sims 4, we always take things in this game with a grain of salt (or is that a pinch of sugar?).
